MARK TYLER has just completed his first year serving as a Family and Juvenile Magistrate for the First Judicial Circuit of Maryland, where he handles domestic, juvenile delinquency, child welfare and truancy cases primarily in Somerset County and also in Wicomico County. He also handles domestic settlement conferences. Prior to his appointment as a Magistrate, he was an Assistant Attorney General for the Maryland Child Support Administration for 13 years handling paternity and support cases in Wicomico County Circuit Court. While in that position, he served on the Department of Human Service’s Child Support Guidelines Advisory Committee and chaired the subcommittee that helped develop proposed legislative changes to the shared physical custody calculations.
